Getting Started in Limitless Survivor
Your first runs, permanent upgrades, and the incremental loop that carries between dungeon attempts.
What Limitless Survivor is
Limitless Survivor is Tam Lab’s incremental roguelite on Steam (released around July 23–24, 2026, priced near $3.99 with Mostly Positive reviews). Each run sends you through dungeon floors filled with swarms. You survive as long as the Time Limit allows, collect loot, and extract progress into permanent crystal upgrades and Artifacts—stackable passive boosts that persist across runs.
You can equip up to five skills, find gear with random affixes (such as on-kill explosions, chain lightning on critical hits, and bonuses to attack count or area), and eventually Prestige with Yellow Crystals to reset stage progress while improving Artifact and crystal income. Auto-play supports AFK farming, and Achievements unlock weapons, skills, and items.
If you played the demo first: demo progress does not carry into the full release. Mechanics are the same, but crystals, Artifacts, and stage unlocks start fresh when you buy the game.
The core loop in one run
Every attempt follows the same rhythm:
- Enter a floor with your current stats, skills, and Artifacts.
- Fight until the timer expires or you fail a damage check.
- Collect crystals and drops during the run—pickup range matters, especially after Prestige resets.
- Spend crystals on permanent stat upgrades between runs.
- Push the next floor when Time Limit, HP, and damage are comfortable.
Death or timeout is normal. Incremental games reward repetition with compounding power. Your goal in the first hour is not “beat the dungeon once” but “unlock a stable farming floor and understand what to upgrade.”
Permanent upgrades vs run loot
Crystals are the primary permanent currency. They raise baseline stats such as HP, attack, pickup range, and Time Limit extensions depending on what the upgrade menu offers. Prioritize upgrades that stop your current failure mode—usually Time Limit or HP early, attack once you survive long enough to clear waves.
Artifacts are separate, permanent, stackable bonuses discovered over many runs. They drip slowly at first, feel faster after Prestige bonuses, and can feel “diminishing” once you already own several copies of the same line. That is expected; see How to Farm Artifacts for pacing.
Gear affixes apply only to the items you find during a run unless a system explicitly persists them. Treat affixes as run-to-run spice; Artifacts and crystal stats are your backbone.
Skills, weapons, and Achievements
You have five skill slots. Early runs may only fill two or three until Achievements and drops unlock more options. Skills synergize with affixes—area and attack-count lines reward wide layouts, while crit-triggered chain effects want consistent critical hits.
Achievements gate weapons, skills, and items. Check the Achievement panel when progress stalls; often a single tracked goal unlocks a tool that breaks your current wall. For loadout ideas once you have options, visit Skill Tier List and Best Builds.
Floors, bosses, and when Prestige appears
Normal floors escalate damage and density. Boss floors act as checks—under upgraded stats they become farming anchors; under upgraded stats they still wipe you if Time Limit or HP lag behind.
Yellow Crystals, used for Prestige, drop from Normal Floor 7 and above. Until you reach that band, focus on crystal upgrades and Achievements rather than forcing a reset. Patch 1.0.02 doubled Yellow Crystal drop rates and raised base Artifact drops by about 67%, so live-game pacing is more generous than day-one impressions suggest.
When Yellow Crystals appear, read Yellow Crystals and How to Prestige before spending them. Prestige is powerful but resets stage progress—plan pickup range and auto-play settings after each reset.
Auto-play and AFK farming
Auto-play lets the game continue runs without constant input—ideal for crystal drip while you do something else. It is not perfect: targeting, pickup pathing, and boss patterns can fail without manual correction. Use Auto-Play Guide once you have a stable floor; until then, manual runs teach failure modes faster.
First-session checklist
- Complete the tutorial prompts and open every menu once (upgrades, Artifacts, Achievements, Prestige preview).
- Pick one damage skill and one defensive or utility skill before chasing a full five-skill build.
- Upgrade the stat that caused your last failure—Time Limit, HP, attack, or pickup—in that order of urgency.
- Push floors until Normal Floor 7+ Yellow Crystal drops appear, then pause to read Prestige guides.
- Set a reminder to review Stat Upgrade Priority after your third or fourth run.
Trailer and first impressions
The official trailer below shows combat density, skill VFX, and the UI layout in under two minutes. Use it to confirm whether you prefer manual kiting or plan to lean on auto-play early.
Watching the trailer is optional for progress, but it helps set expectations: Limitless Survivor is a numbers game dressed as an action survivor. Screen clarity and pickup range matter as much as raw damage.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
Does Limitless Survivor demo progress transfer to Steam?
No. Demo progress does not carry to the full game. You keep the knowledge, not the crystals, Artifacts, or stage unlocks.
How many skills can I equip in Limitless Survivor?
Up to five skills. Early runs may use fewer until Achievements and unlocks fill all slots.
When should a new player think about Prestige?
After you reach Normal Floor 7+ and start earning Yellow Crystals. Read the Prestige and Yellow Crystal guides before spending them.
What is the difference between crystals and Artifacts?
Crystals buy direct permanent stat upgrades. Artifacts are stackable passive boosts with their own drop loop, improved by Prestige bonuses.
Is auto-play required?
No. Auto-play is optional for AFK farming but imperfect. Manual runs are better while learning floors and upgrade priorities.
